Why the best playroom designer is an educator!

There are many stories here at grOH! that begin with...how do we get our child to play in their room...their playroom...the backyard...how do we get them to play? And many times we find beautiful, elegant, or extravagant environments, designed to a tee. The one problem...the child doesn’t know how to be in that space.

As many of you know, grOH! is led by two extraordinary women, Anne and Jodi. Both are highly educated in child development, have years of practical experience in the classroom, have kids of their own, and have served countless families with their knowledge and expertise.

It’s a fun and different avenue, getting out of the classroom and designing playrooms, (absolutely!) but Anne and Jodi are educators first and foremost. Their approach uniquely brings years-worth of child development experience into families’ homes.

Designing a playroom needs to encapsulate the entire spectrum of child development: cognitive, social and emotional, speech and language, fine and gross motor. Understanding the transitions children go through means understanding the needs of their environment...what they need now and what they’ll need in five years, ten years. This concept is hugely important to every decision made throughout the grOH! design process: room layout and features, furniture selection, color and decor selection, toy and material selection, and more.

Having someone who truly understands child development is crucial when designing kids’ spaces. grOH! brings expertise, years of experience, and commitment to development right into your home!
